Meridian, ID (CBS2) — After two years of planning and construction, Roaring Springs will open their new expansion this spring making it one of the largest waterparks in the country.
The new expansion is the first phase out of seven that the water park plans to complete over the next decade which will increase the waterpark's size by 40%.
“Our leadership team has visited waterparks all around the world, and we’re excited to bring some the highest quality, most fun water rides to Idaho,” said Roaring Springs CEO Pat Morandi. “This expansion will make Roaring Springs one of the largest waterparks in the US, provide outstanding entertainment for families, and create jobs for both young adults and professionals. All of this is made possible by the long-time valued support of our community, and our tremendous partnership with the City of Meridian.”
The new addition is a Northwest- theme that includes an interactive kids' play structure with seven slides, a whitewater wave action river, a kids' adventure pool, Geyser Grill with the waterpark's first bar, as well as 16 luxury cabanas. There will also be additional parking added along with other amenities.

Roaring Springs is set to open the main water park on May 6 if the weather allows. The expansion is expected to open on May 31.
